We have never done this before, but…

We want to offer you a free spot at our next workshop retreat.

Seriously.

So, here’s the deal. We know that we’re not the best at telling people about our amazing offerings! Like, did you know that we’ve been in business for a decade?! And during that time, we’ve fostered an amazing community that extends far beyond the individual retreats? And that our alumni include multiple authors with multiple book deals from major publisher, NY Times bestsellers, and national award-winners? And that we’re constantly evolving our programming, as most attendees come back again and again?

We know we have amazing retreats. We made them to be exactly the kind of thing we needed before (and after!) we were published, and we’ve worked hard to foster a supportive, effective community of writers. We looked at what was available, and we made a workshop retreat that’s affordable, with programming using the same tools we use, one-on-one time tailored to each attendee, and slashing out a lot of the elitism to bring you the real deal.

But we would love some help getting the word out about what we offer.

We are looking for one or more people who are willing to share online about Wordsmith Workshops.

And we’re going to gift you a free retreat!

That’s right! We happen to have some space open at the upcoming April retreat in Wimberly, TX. The person we select will get a free retreat—room, board, programming, and everything else included. The only thing you’ll be responsible is for your travel to get to the retreat (and if you fly in, we have a shuttle that can take you to and from the airport at specific times).

We’re hoping that whoever we select will be comfortable sharing at least three posts on their social media about Wordsmith (or more!). We’re looking for creatives with connections to writers, so even if your platform isn’t huge, please still apply!

Additionally, we may be doing mailed swag in the future—either boxes with books and swag, or smaller envelopes with swag items. If you’d like to be a part of that, you can sign up now—it’s all a part of the same form!

About the Retreat:

The retreat is located in sunny Wimberly, TX, not far from the Austin airport. You’ll arrive on Wednesday evening and get to know the crew over a delicious dinner. On Thursday through Saturday, we have workshops and group critiques in the morning, and after lunch, you’ll have plenty of time to work on your novel and develop your story. After breakfast on Sunday, you’ll head back home with lots of ideas and plans for your future book!

In addition to the actual retreat, you’ll also get a month of Word Lab, our online writing sessions, that will not only help you jump start your work, but will also introduce you to some of the people at the retreat (we’re introverts, too, and know it’s not easy!).

Unlike some retreats, Beth and Cristin don’t hide away after a presentation—we’re there with you the whole time, available to talk, consult about your career, or help you plan your book. And we really value the community we’ve built, so basically, once you’re one of us, you’re stuck with us for life :)
